Thank you to Juny who has included the "Sunshine of my Life" bracelet in her delicious treasury! I have been working on an ENORMOUS photo retake of my stuff and I'm so glad that she saw the cute in this bracelet, one of my very favorites. It looks like some of my hard work is paying off! So far, I've retaken and retouched all of the bracelet photos. I think it's making a big difference. With over 200 items in my shop this is no small task, I assure you.

The Golden Egg vol. 8

It's Sunday, so now is the time when I choose a talented Etsy artist to spotlight. Tonight, I have picked spacedogstudios for her charming, distinctive, and impeccably assembled sketchbooks and journals. All of these are hand bound, and each is so artful and thoughtfully decorated. If you own one, I'm sure that all the artists who see you scribbling in one of these will be green with envy!

Many thanks to smoobage for her heartalicious treasury, and to Fluggaphotography for her buttery treasury. Both of these kind souls included something I made among their chosen items.

*Update- Flugga's treasury made the front page of Etsy! Great job, Flugga!

The Golden Egg vol. 7

H
i Folks! This week's Golden Egg is none other than JDWolfe, potter extraordinaire. Her work is a charming blend of earthy and sweet. I love her polka dots! They turn up on everything- her adorable place setting, her cute as can be miniature vases, coffee mugs, and cereal bowls. It all strikes a wonderful balance of distinctiveness and utility. Bravo, JD!

Golden Egg vol. 6

This week's Golden Egg is homelab! I have recently discovered this knifty knitter and I am intrigued by the creative structures and forms in her work. Her fingerless gloves feature wonderfully chunky cable knitting. Her scarves come with touches you often find in clothing- ruffles, buttons, rouching, and bows, yet all of them in this case are knit! How cool is that?

Wonderful news! My brother got into Juilliard for his grad program!!! How about that? My brother, a Juilliard trombonist. Holy cow. We always knew he was awesome but it's great to see that those who know best agree wholeheartedly! Imagine being a performer with that on your resume. Hopefully, it will mean lots of excellent opportunities for him in orchestras around the country. Or the world, for that matter.

And, a side note: It's getting harder and harder to practice restraint- the BEAD SHOW IS COMING. If you live in the area, it's the Innovative Bead Expo at the Clarksville Fire House (Ten Oaks Ballroom) Valentine's day weekend.
I am going, and I am going to go gaga.

A big thank you to soapdeli for featuring my ring in her lovely treasury! Have a look.

The Golden Egg, vol. 5

This week's golden egg is a fresh and modern artist and maker of paper goods: annacote. I enjoy her clean, organic style, and I also appreciate her bold color choices. As an artist myself I am often attracted to plant forms and she uses them so beautifully in her work! Hurry and check out her 2009 calendar- only 9 left!
